Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) in Andover, MA, is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to manage a mixed Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment. You will troubleshoot and document solutions, collaborate with cybersecurity teams, and provide training on advanced IT processes.

The role requires DoD clearance eligibility and is 100% onsite with potential travel. Ideal candidates have a degree with 2+ years of relevant experience and hands-on Linux administration, virtualization, and scripting.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Ability to obtain Interim U.S. security clearance prior to the start date; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems.
• Experience with developing solutions and documenting technical problems and their solutions.

What You Will Do

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
• Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
• Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
• Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
• Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within a reasonable amount of time
• Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally required work effort beyond standard work hours.
• Travel required as business needs dictate to other US domestic locations, up to 5% per year.
• 100% onsite

• Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods
• Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) certification and an Operating System Certification
• Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF controls
• Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
• Experience in Sun Solaris or Unisys platforms and operating systems
• Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development
• Experience with scripting languages like bash, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Ansible

Salary

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
