Job summary

MANTECH is seeking a Linux System Administrator to join our team in Laurel, MD. You will administer Linux systems, support enterprise IT operations, and contribute to secure, scalable infrastructure for a global workforce.

Ideal candidates bring deep Linux troubleshooting skills, VMware experience, and DoD 8140 IAT certification readiness. A TS/SCI clearance is required to support mission-critical programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required; five (5) years of additional System Administration experience may substitute for a degree.
• 20+ years’ experience as a System Administrator in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Demonstrated experience leading Systems Administration/Engineering efforts is required.
• Must be proficient troubleshooting in a Linux environment.
• Experience with VMware.
• IAT I certification (DoD 8140) required within 60 days of starting employment; acceptable certifications include A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career-driven, and customer-focused Linux System Administrator to join our team in Laurel, MD. You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a System Engineer, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Compute Services.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Administer, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems to ensure high performance and reliability. Responsible for OS installation, system health and security integrity, network component configuration, and executing continuous system enhancements.
• Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
• Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations,monitoringand problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and will remain involved in the resolution process.
• Optimizesystem operations and resourceutilizationand perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware,applicationsand software integration.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in technical discipline is required. Five (5) years of additional System Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
• 20+ years’ experience as a System Administration in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Demonstrated experience leading Systems Administration/Engineering efforts is required
• Must be proficient troubleshooting in a Linux environment
• Experience with VMware
• IAT I certification (DoD 8140requiredwithin 60 days of starting employment.Acceptable certifications include A+ CE/CCNA-Security/CND/Network+ CE /CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP)

Preferred Qualifications

• Based on program and technical requirements, evaluates and recommends appropriate hardware, software and services solutions.
• Experience/familiarization with full lifecycle management of Linux systems, to include provisioning, configurationmanagementand patching.
• Red Hat Certified System Administration Certification.
• Experience withNetAPP

Clearance Requirements

• Must possess and maintain a current/active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
• Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
