Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Storage System Administrator to support daily storage administration for diverse HPC and archival environments. You will manage HSM software, backups, and storage hardware, ensuring high availability and performance across standalone, VM, and large HPC clusters.

The role requires Linux/Unix expertise, experience with SAMQFS and Versity Storage Manager, and Veritas NetBackup, along with DoD 8570 IA/OS cert alignment and Top Secret eligibility. LBNLSTIG knowledge is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years experience; degree may be substituted by additional experience.
• Active security clearance and ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
• DoD 8570 certification requirement (Security+, OS cert, Linux+, RedHat, etc.; 90-day waiver may apply).
• General knowledge of Linux/Unix concepts.
• Experience with HSM software such as SAMQFS and Versity Storage Manager.
• Experience with enterprise backup/data protection like Veritas NetBackup.
• Tape library/drive storage experience.
• Experience with Tape Backup or long-term Archive Software.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to document procedures.
• Team oriented, capable of multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.
• Organizational skills to balance priorities and follow through.
• Ability to document system administration procedures clearly.
• Understanding of storage environments (ESS, Seagate, LSI, Oracle storage, IBM tape libraries, Fibre Channel switches).

Responsibilities

• Assist daily administration of storage environment across applications using HSM management software.
• Configure storage hardware/software, support backups, monitor storage devices, and tune performance.
• Support mass storage archives in environments with standalone, VM, and large HPC clusters.
• Provide clear documentation of system administration procedures.
