Job summary

Catapult Solutions Group is seeking a Hardware Testing Engineer for a 5+ month contract in Santa Clara, CA, on 2nd or 3rd shift. The role emphasizes Linux-based server validation, hardware diagnostics, firmware updates, and datacenter operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will provision Linux servers, run diagnostics, capture waveform data with oscilloscopes, and collaborate with engineering to resolve hardware, firmware, and networking issues. 3–5 years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in datacenter operations, hardware validation, manufacturing, lab support, system testing, or server environments.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and hardware diagnostics.
• Strong Linux command-line experience and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with firmware flashing, system recovery, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).

Responsibilities

• Provision, configure, and deploy Linux-based server systems and development platforms.
• Update firmware across server racks and monitor deployment success.
• Launch, monitor, and troubleshoot hardware validation workloads.
• Recover failed systems, trays, and components through hardware/software remediation.
• Perform server provisioning, OS deployment, firmware flashing, and system recovery activities.
• Troubleshoot Linux OS issues using command-line tools and standard debugging methodologies.
• Assemble, build, install, and maintain server systems and rack infrastructure.
• Document testing procedures and results with precision.
