TekSynap is seeking a Linux OS Engineer - Mid to support the DIA CIO Infrastructure Services program in the National Capital Region. This role performs tier 2/3 watch coverage, delivering secure, mission-focused Linux infrastructure in coordination with government leads and technical teams.

Location is NCR, on-site only for classified duties; 4x10 mid shift. Target salary range is $85,000–$135,000 plus benefits. U.S. citizenship and TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Qualifications

Degree or 4+ years of relevant DoD environment experience.
Experience with Linux OS engineering in classified environments.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, engineer and administer Linux computing systems, hardware, software and storage.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the design, implementation, engineering and administration of Linux computing systems hardware, software and storage infrastructure supporting a 24x7 mission-critical environment.
Designs,integratesand implements new Linux server systems,applicationsand equipment to meet organizational needs and goals.
Resolves Linux system issues and requests from teams or specific users promptly and accurately.
Acts as a subject-matter expert and technical support for Linux platform operating systems and applications across the organization.installsand monitors Unix/Linux open-source operating systems and caters to the client's needs.
Resolves user issues, address change management requests, andidentifiespotential issues by implementing protective measures.
Knowledge of Ansible or Puppet and scripting experience (any language).
Architecting systems infrastructure solutions to deliver business applications and contenting to customers at low latency and high throughput.
Designing,implementingand supporting Linux computing systems hardware and software infrastructure using the following service models: onpremise, co-location data center facility.
Application Service Provider (ASP), managed hosted, SaaS cloud, PaaS cloud, IaaScloudand hybrid.
Perform Linux OS Engineer - Mid duties for the DIA CIO Infrastructure Services programin accordance withapproved technical, security, quality, configuration, and change-control processes.
Coordinate assigned activities with Government representatives, program leadership, engineering, operations, cybersecurity, service owners, and other mission partners.
Maintainaccuratetechnical, operational, and status documentation;identifyrisks, issues, dependencies, and corrective actions affecting assigned work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance arerequired. A polygraph will berequiredfor the position, and the employee must obtain andmaintainall customer-mandated system and facility access.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an area applicable to the position plus at least 4 years of relevant experience.
OR Qualifying education and experience combinations: HS/GED plus 8 years; associate plus 6 years; bachelor plus 4 years; master plus 2 years; PhD plus 0 years.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II minimum; transition to the Government-designated DoD 8140 work-role qualification isrequired.
Demonstrated mid-levelproficiencyperforming Linux OS Engineer - Mid responsibilities in classified or mission-critical information technology environments.
Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles,theoriesand concepts.
Working under only generaldirection,provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of an integrated technical team.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

One or more of the following are desired: Security+, RHCSA or RHCE.
A certification satisfying the next higher applicable DoD 8570 category or the corresponding DoD 8140proficiencylevel is preferred.
Current training and hands‑on experience with the tools, platforms, and mission processes used by the assigned service lane are preferred.

This mid Systems / Platform position performs continuous tier 2/tier 3 watch coverage and supports reliable, secure, and mission-focused delivery in coordination with Government leads, program leadership, service lanes, and technical teams.

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $85,000.00 - $135,000.00. The salary range displayed is an estimate only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
