Job summary

Aqua IT in Chantilly, VA is seeking a capable IT specialist to provide Tier II support, perform root-cause analysis, and act as an SME for system health and performance. You will develop scripts and use playbooks to automate tasks, while managing COTS and GOTS software across environments.

You will coordinate with Enterprise Services to ensure security compliance and work with external teams to resolve access issues.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI, CI Poly highly desired).
• BS degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Masters with <2 years.
• Proactive self-starter with excellent oral and written communication.
• Two+ years of AWS experience (S3, EC2, Reserved Instances, etc.).
• Experience troubleshooting network issues (OSI layers 4-7).
• Familiar with System Engineering documentation (diagrams, data flows).
• Experience with Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.
• Strong Linux background and infrastructure management basics.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier II support to resolve customer-facing issues.
• Conduct RCA and mitigation, communicate findings, and feed back to development.
• Act as SME reviewing metrics, system health, performance checks, and proactive availability.
• Develop scripts and use playbook-based automation to accomplish tasks.
• Manage COTS and GOTS software in multiple environments.
• Coordinate with Enterprise Services to ensure security compliance.
• Interface with customers and external teams to diagnose access issues.
• Utilize visualization skills to map workflows and identify bottlenecks.
