Job summary

SAIC is seeking a detail-oriented Linux Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer to work with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI. The role focuses on administering Linux-based systems in command-line environments, supporting CI/CD workflows, and delivering mission-relevant operations with clear technical documentation.

You will collaborate with government personnel and cross-functional teams to assess issues, evaluate options, and communicate recommendations.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship.
Active DoW Secret clearance or higher.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.
Demonstrated ability to administer and troubleshoot Linux systems in command-line environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools; support build, test, deployment, validation, rollback, and release-management workflows.
Knowledge of cloud concepts including compute, storage, networking, IAM, virtualization, containers, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in CLI environments.
Support established CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines.
Develop and maintain SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with government personnel and cross-functional teams; communicate recommendations clearly.
Ensure systems are documented and delivered on schedule per processes.
