LILT is seeking Wolof-language professionals with expertise in user interfaces, marketing localization, and retail content to join our expanding talent network. You will ensure clear, consistent localization that respects brand voice and regional nuances.

As an independent contractor, you’ll work flexibly on UX, marketing, and product copy projects from anywhere. You’ll collaborate with production and quality leads to deliver accurate translations on schedule while upholding high quality

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Wolof.
• Graduate in translation/linguistics, or 2+ years translation experience, or 5 years translation experience.
• Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely.
• Proven translation/localization experience in marketing, UI/software, or e-commerce content.
• Experience with app/platform localization (mobile UI, social media, or web content) preferred.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in Wolof.

• A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.

• The ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely.

• Proven professional experience in translation and localization within marketing, UI/software, or e-commerce content.

• Experience with app or platform localization (mobile UI, social media, or web content) preferred.

What to Consider Before Applying

• Not ideal as a full-time job or primary income source. Work availability fluctuates with project demand; as a 1099 contractor, you won't receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions, and hours are not guaranteed.

• Requires reliable availability and commitment. Most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week.

• Geographic restrictions may apply. We cannot engage contractors in regions subject to international embargo or sanctions. As a 1099 contractor, you are solely responsible for your own tax obligations.
