Job summary

Spire Hospitality is seeking a laundry associate to ensure proper sorting and distribution of laundry to meet quality standards. The role involves pre-sorting linens, transferring loads, operating folding equipment including ironer, and handling items requiring mending or stain removal.

The position requires physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing carts up to 100 lbs, with emphasis on safety and teamwork in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of industrial equipment.
• Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, and stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, bend, stoop, carry, push or pull heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull wheeled carts up to 100 lbs.
• Basic English comprehension for safety labels and instructions.
• Ability to follow directions under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Empty the laundry chute and prepare loads for washer.
• Pre-sort and separate linen by classification and transfer to workstations.
• Operate folding equipment for mats, blankets, towels, bedspreads, etc., including ironer.
• Separate laundry requiring mending or stain removal.
• Assist washer by moving carts from washing to drying area.
• Provide guidance for guest and employee safety in emergencies.
• Assist room attendants or house person as needed.
