Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a Laundry Room Attendant to manage the efficient, hygienic processing of facility laundry at a camp site, including washing, drying, folding, and storing linens and uniforms.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will operate commercial laundry equipment, maintain cleanliness, follow safety procedures, and support linen distribution for the housekeeping team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in laundry, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning preferred.
• Experience operating commercial laundry equipment is an asset.
• Knowledge of proper laundry handling, hygiene, and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 35–50 pounds.
• Willingness to follow all safety and infection-control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, and process laundry from across the facility.
• Operate commercial washers and dryers per established procedures.
• Wash, dry, fold, and organize bed linens, towels, washcloths, and uniforms.
• Ensure proper laundry separation to prevent cross-contamination.
• Fold and store clean laundry in designated storage areas.
• Maintain accurate counts and tracking of linens as required.
• Clean lint traps, machines, and laundry work areas regularly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
• Report equipment malfunctions, damage, or maintenance needs to supervision.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Assist housekeeping teams with linen distribution as required.
