Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking a Laundry Porter to ensure laundry standards are upheld at the FLETC campus in Charleston, SC. You will transport, setup, and inventory linen lockers, and ensure linens are cleaned and delivered on time.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading washers, rotating shifts, and maintaining a clean laundry area in compliance with safety standards. Must be eligible for DHS background and be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in commercial or institutional laundry services.
• Knowledge of laundry chemicals and equipment safety procedures.
• Able to lift bags of laundry and operate heavy machinery.
• Physically capable of repetitive motion, standing, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Must meet FLETC background and conduct standards.
• If operating Company-provided vehicles, maintaining a valid driver’s license in good standing is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Remove linens from each dorm and transport them to the laundry facility.
• Restock each dorm with clean linens from the laundry as directed.
• Wash, dry, and fold laundry daily.
• Properly load and unload washers and dryers, ensuring correct temperature settings for various items.
• Carry linens and supplies up and down 3–5 flights of stairs as needed.
• Remove housekeeping trash from all buildings daily.
• Ensure linen and laundry supplies are ordered and managed in accordance with Business and Events requirements.
• Report to the Dormitory Manager when linens need to be discarded or replaced.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the box truck, including washing the exterior, sweeping and cleaning the interior, and ensuring it is fueled.
• Ensure all team members comply with DAWSON Health and Safety regulations.
• Non-slip shoes are required each workday; consult your manager with any questions regarding appropriate footwear.
