Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC is seeking a Lineman I Telecom to assist with overhead fiber and telecom cable installations and repairs, ensuring safe, reliable service. You will operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and excavators while maintaining safe work zones and traveling for storm response as needed.

Applicants should be at least 18, authorized to work in the U.S., have a high school diploma or GED, and hold a valid driver's license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED or relevant work experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Previous construction experience in telecom is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of fiber and telecom cables overhead and repair issues promptly.
• Safely operate equipment such as bucket truck, digger derrick and excavators.
• Use hand and power tools (wrenches, drills, saws) safely.
• Maintain safe work areas and ensure smooth traffic flow near worksites.
• Work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders; travel for storm response on short notice.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with the installation of fiber and telecom cables overhead, and promptly repair any issues to ensure efficient and reliable service
• Safely use equipment like bucket truck, digger derrick, excavators
• Safely use hand tools and power tools like wrenches, drills, and saws
• Maintain safe work areas so that traffic flows smoothly while on the job
• Safely work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders
• Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Previous Construction experience desired, preferably within the telecommunications industry

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, use ladder, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use keyboard and mouse

The wage range for Lineman I Telecom is $24.00 - $28.00.
