Clay Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a Lineman to perform skilled work on transmission and distribution lines, focusing on safety and teamwork. Responsibilities include constructing and maintaining power lines, performing troubleshooting, and operating various construction equipment.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, relevant training, and four years of utility experience, along with a valid Florida Class A driver's license. The position may require after-hours work and adherence to safety protocols.
Job Summary: This position performs advanced and skilled work for transmission, overhead and underground distribution lines, protective equipment, substations, and related equipment owned and operated by Clay Electric Cooperative, Inc. The employee is supervised by the Crew Chief or Crew Leader.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus completion of Clay Electric's Lineworker Development Training Program, or an equivalent program, and four (4) years of experience in an electric distribution utility, preferably through the progression of apprentice lineman work.
This position requires a valid Florida Class A commercial driver’s license or a Florida Class A restricted commercial driver’s license.
This position requires after‑hours work due to workload and/or emergency situations.
This position requires the ability to perform on‑call and/or backup duties. These assignments will be made at the discretion of the supervisor and are considered part of accepting this position.
Employees in this position shall comply with Policy 110 – “Residence Required in Districts and Operations Department”.
