JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Performs lineman duties in support of communications and utility infrastructure operations. Installs, splices, maintains, and repairs fiber optic and coax systems, including overhead and underground work, in compliance with safety and engineering standards.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Safely operate bucket trucks, man-lifts, boom trucks, and other construction equipmentInstall strand, crossarms, conductors, hardware, and telecommunications infrastructurePlace, sag, splice, transfer, and secure fiber optic and coaxial cables using standard tools, lashing tools, rollers, and pulling equipmentPerform overhead and underground work, including conduit installation, vault work, fault locating, and pole settingClimb wood poles and steel towers using approved climbing and fall protection equipmentInstall, maintain, inspect, and repair lines, poles, transformers, switches, meters, and related equipmentPerform line switching, sectionalizing, emergency repairs, load checks, and feeder balancing as directedTrack and communicate daily production, materials usage, and job progressDrive to and from job sitesAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual laborComply with all safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirementsPerform other related duties as assignedMINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Must be at least 18 years of age by the start date of employmentOSHA 10‑Hour Certification required at time of hire or within 90 days thereafter.Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and medical card evaluation.Knowledge of basic construction safety practicesAbility to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English related to job duties and safety requirements.3 years experience in utilities, telecommunications, civil construction, or related field (preferred)Pole‑Top & Bucket Truck Rescue; Digger Derrick Qualification (preferred)Commercial Driver License or willingness to obtain (preferred)WORKING CONDITIONS:Outdoor construction work environmentExposure to varying weather conditionsPhysically demanding work including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and digging
