Job description

Summary

This position is for a Processing Line Worker at a Food Processing (Eggs) company. Under the supervision of the Processing Supervisor, this role involves performing various tasks to ensure the highest quality product.

Key Responsibilities

1. Food Safety and Food Quality
   • Perform all functions in strict adherence to HACCP, SQF, cGMPs, and regulatory protocols.
   • Follow food safety principles.
   • Handle and store products and materials properly to prevent damage or contamination.
   • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
   • Maintain compliance with personnel and process hygiene requirements.
2. Operations
   • Grade and align eggs entering the washer section.
   • Ensure smooth transition of eggs from the main egg belt conveyor to the accumulating station.
   • Keep the area clean, track inedible materials, and dispose of them properly.
   • Clean washer screens.
   • Perform chemical checks and foam control in washers; re-wash eggs as needed.
   • Grade eggs from washers according to SOP.
   • Facilitate smooth transfer of eggs from transfer room to breaking machine.
   • Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
   • Assist during breaks and cleanup activities.
   • Grade broken eggs, removing bad or blood spot eggs and shells from cups.
   • Perform cleanup duties meeting USDA standards in Breaking, Transfer, and Shell rooms after shifts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience in food manufacturing or processing is desirable.
• Knowledge of safety programs and processes such as Confined Space, LOTO, Hazcom, etc.
• Equipment operation skills.

Physical Demands

Constant standing and walking; frequent gripping, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds; occasional sitting, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, water, chemicals; temperature-controlled environment with cooler areas; moderate noise level; required PPE; adherence to GMPs (hairnets, clean clothes, etc.).

The starting wage is $17.00 per hour, with potential increases through skill development. Inquire with HR about bonuses.
