Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Team Lead Operator to guide daily production activities on the Columbus plant line. This role focuses on coaching operators, ensuring safety and quality standards, and coordinating with maintenance and QA to keep production on schedule.

You will work with multiple departments to implement process improvements, maintain regulatory compliance, and support cost-saving initiatives while sustaining high performance and reliability across shifts.

Qualifications

  • HSD or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree or higher strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the department and fully trained/signed-off on all equipment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in food, pharmaceutical, or nutrition manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory standards, GMP, EHS&S protocols, and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a consistent presence on the production line—75% of the time—to coach, train, and mentor operators.
  • Provide effective communication, documentation, conflict resolution, and support to the supervisor’s team-building efforts.
  • Collaborate with plant department supervisors, employees and staff to meet production objectives and coordinate cross-functional work.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement operational enhancements to reduce costs and improve efficiency on the line.
