Job summary

Swire Coca-Cola is seeking a Line Shift Lead in our Denver, CO area to drive safety, quality and continuous improvement on the manufacturing line. You will coach a high-performing team, own daily management systems, coordinate shift staffing, and ensure adherence to production plans and changeovers.

We value prior experience on high-speed bottling lines, plus strong supervision skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years working as production/machine operator required.
  • Experience in high-speed food manufacturing or bottling operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure shift team complies with safety and quality procedures.
  • Coach, train and develop the shift team; identify root causes of losses and outages.
  • Own Line shift DDS process; manage planned stops and staff allocations for current and next shift.
  • Develop staff with training in collaboration with the Manufacturing Line Manager.
  • Coordinate with other Shift leaders to address staffing and critical issues.

What does a Line Shift Lead do at Swire Coca-Cola?

Part of a high performing team that is engaged and committed to World Class Manufacturing performance, ensuring that the safety of our people always comes first, while building a line culture of continuous improvement with a focus on zero operational defects and losses. The incumbent, in conjunction with the other team functional leaders, has shift accountability of the manufacturing line results including safety, quality, reliability, production attainment, productivity, and costs. This includes settingand leading shiftdaily directionsetting, planned stops andaction plans to attack and reduce losses. An effectiveLine Shift Leadersets high expectations and standards, coaches, holds the team to these standards and ensures that every person on the team understands the results expected. Owns equipment and DMS (Daily Management Systems). Receives and gives coaching. The Line Shift Leader ensures that every person on the team understands thefeedback from the DDS (Daily Direction Setting), theresults from the previous shift and theresults expectedfor their shift. Confirms theproductionsequence and change overplan for theirshift andallocates staff to their workstation and the planned stop during the shift.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure theirshift team complies with the companySafety and Quality procedures
  • Coach, train and develop theshiftteam.Work with the line functional teamto determine root cause and solveline losses andperformance outages
  • Owner ofLine shift DDS processincluding shift to shift handover; Ensure the team develops a robust plan for planned stops, with clearly defined and allocated roles and actions for each team member to deliver results for the current and next shift.Communicate DDSline, department, and plant direction to teams
  • Team Development:Work with the Manufacturing LineManager to plan and execute training for the team. Coach team on howtoowntheirskill profile to feedneedsinto training plans
  • Work withotherLine Shift leaders to resolve staffing issues or coordinate staffing across the shift,follow escalation process for any areas thatare identified as critical. For example,seriousissues regardingsafety,quality,or breakdowns
  • Know plant standards around safety, break-time,quality,vacation scheduling, overtime management, absenteeism, etc.
  • Provide constructive feedback andrewards,role modelsolid behaviors in these areas
  • Build own technical skills and help theManufacturing Line Manager andTechnical Specialists setpriorities to maximize processreliability/uptime resultsand loss reduction
  • Ensure all shift documentation, SOP processesand ordersare completedper standard
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma (or GED) required
  • 2+ years working as production/machine operator required
  • Experience in high-speed food manufacturing and / or working knowledge of bottling operations preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial technology. Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to perform essential functions with little or no supervision
