Job summary

Eversource is seeking a Fully Qualified Line Mechanic in Connecticut to support the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system. The role requires climbing poles, overhead/underground work, and the ability to work aloft on structures; CDL is required, and rubber gloving up to 23KV is a must.

The salary starts at $56.32 per hour with progression under the union contract. Overtime and emergency restoration duties may be required, with reporting base within about a half hour.

A Fully Qualified Line Mechanic position requires at least one year of experience. A line mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment. This includes working aloft on electric utility poles or on ground and pad mounted structures. Must have the ability to climb poles skillfully with Lineman’s climbers; and the ability to direct the work of others when assigned are required. The selected candidate must be qualified to hold and possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Rubber gloving of high voltage distribution systems up to 23KV is a requirement. The individual will be required, during periods of trouble call assignment, to be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour.The salary range for this position starts at $56.32 and progresses in accordance with the union contract.
