Job description

The Production Team Lead will operate in our cold storage warehouse. We will provide the necessary gear for cold conditions.

This is a 1st shift position working 6am to 3:30 PM.

Production Team Lead Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and prioritize the operational tasks directed by the supervisor.
  • Communicate and execute work assignments to meet set expectations by department and customer requirements.
  • Communicate with and perform as an assistant for all staff and departments such as the supervisors, support staff, leadership, and front-line employees.
  • Communicate with customers and their needs.
  • Prepare job-related paperwork.
  • Escalate work-related and interpersonal issues to leadership as needed.
  • Perform quality checks and report failures to the supervisor.
  • Assist and coordinate training for new and current employees.
  • Supervise employees to ensure they are following Safety and Quality processes and regulations.
  • Be a resource for Safety, QA, and Company processes and procedures.
  • Handle any minor tasks related to the duties of the position.
  • Follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality are mandatory for an hourly role.

Production Team Lead Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Six months of material handling equipment/forklift experience preferred
  • Experience in leading, supervising and training associates preferred
  • Experience using warehouse management and inventory systems preferred
  • Experience with the refrigeration, warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with computers and Microsoft Office preferred
  • Experience following safety procedures preferred
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes potential overtime, weekends, and different work schedules
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to balance productivity, quality, and safety
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Production Team Lead Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • This is largely a static role withstanding, however, the ability to perform repetitive bending and standing up is also required. This would require the ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally.
  • This role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (between 38 and -20 degrees Fahrenheit) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production-type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for the duration of shift.
