Job summary

Prudential Overall Supply in Round Rock, TX is hiring for a full-time Line Driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations. You will load and unload freight, conduct pre-trip inspections, and ensure cargo is secured while adhering to DOT regulations.

Must hold a valid Class A CDL, read English, maintain a current medical card, and pass pre-employment checks including MVR. ELD operation and forklift training are required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have and provide a clean MVR (within 30 days).
• Experience with DOT hours of service for Class A CMV operators.

Our Line Drivers play an essential role in ensuring timely deliveries and happy customers. This is a full-time position, NOT seasonal.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and/or turn-point locations via tractor-trailer combinations.
• Efficiently load and/or unload freight using proper freight handling equipment.
• Take responsibility of and secure cargo.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection of equipment.
• Communicate with management to receive instructions, report delays or safety hazards and report accidents involving the driver or Company equipment.
• Maybe required to drop and hook trailers and change the configuration of equipment as necessary.
• Comply with all DOT and state laws and regulations pertaining to the safe operation of a commercial vehicle.
• Must comply with Company Policy & Procedures and understand company’s vehicle accident reporting process.
• Must keep a copy of a valid CDL and medical card on person while driving.
• Work and drive in a safe manner, arrive to work well rested.
• (5) nights of nightly driving (PM Shuttle to Kannapolis NC)
• Other duties as required

Requirements

• Maintain valid credentials (Class A License) as required by local, state or federal regulations.
• Must be able to read and follow directions in English.
• Must have current medical card
• Must have and provide an up to date, clean MVR. No older than 30 days from the date of application
• Must be 21 years of age and have 3 years of verifiable experience with Class 8 tractors
• Must know and understand all D.O.T. hours of service regulations pertaining to Class A CMV operators.
• Must be able to operate an Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
• Must know and be able to follow all applicable safety rules and procedures in all steps of the delivery process, in accordance with company, local, state and federal requirements.
• Must be trained and able to operate a forklift.
• Must be able to work outdoors, in hot and cold weather and occasionally in rain. Complete assigned routes. Complete required paperwork.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check. And register for the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
