Job summary

Philip Morris International seeks a Line Coordinator in Aurora, CO to run and improve manufacturing lines with emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency. You will supervise a shift, troubleshoot equipment, and drive autonomous maintenance while ensuring production targets are met.

The role requires at least a high school diploma plus technical background, 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, and the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights.

Your ‘day To Day’

As a Line Coordinator, you will play a critical role in operating, adjusting, repairing, and maintaining our manufacturing equipment and leading a shift team. The focus of the position is to execute at the highest level of safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement in our production processes.

Major Responsibilities And Accountabilities
  • Efficiently operate, adjust, repair, and maintain making and packing equipment with Safety always in mind.
  • Drive machine and DMS ownership across the line (AM & PM)
  • Develop action plans for the shift based on handover from previous shift and KPI’s for the operating lines through Daily Direction Setting meeting at beginning of shift
  • Control production processes from a computer terminal and from manual interventions with the machine.
  • Manually lift/load raw and packing materials into the production line.
  • Perform and document all required quality documentation.
  • Perform Safety and Quality Risk predictions before every task.
  • Perform and develop procedures for preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
  • Resolve production issues including sources of contamination, mechanical misalignment, defects, operational inefficiencies, etc. through cross functional collaboration, training operators, and developing new standards.
  • Drive and coach continuous improvement through loss elimination, autonomous maintenance standards, and equipment ownership to build autonomous/self-sufficient operating teams.
  • Meet or exceed production targets and quality standards.
  • Works as a self-motivated individual with minimal supervision while functioning as a leader of the team.
  • Ensure staffing for operation by managing time off requests.
  • Escalate production issues as needed to Production supervisor and/or line manager
  • Deliver productivity targets by eliminating losses in waste, maintenance, utility, uptime, and effort costs
  • Develops, reads, correctly interprets, follows, and trains job procedures, work instructions, and production standards. Responsible for communicating that information accurately to teammates and other shifts.
  • Train teammates in machine operation, standard development, and SOPs (standard operating procedures).
Who We’re Looking For
  • Minimum High School Degree with Technical Background
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience in continuous improvement, loss elimination, and/or autonomous maintenance roles
  • Experience leading others
  • Basic fluency in English, written and spoken.
  • Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including weekends and nights.
  • Ability to occasionally work overtime.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protection Equipment and Production Uniform (e.g. safety glasses, bump cap or hard hat, safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, hair nets and gloves).
  • Physical ability to lift/push/pull 50 pounds, stand for 12 hours, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, and talk. See and hear visual/audio indicators.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience in IWS/TPM/Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred, but not required
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Required)

Hourly Rate: Starts at $31/ hour
