Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - North Seattle is seeking a dependable Line Cook to join a busy kitchen in Seattle, WA. The role supports daily kitchen operations, with a focus on food preparation, scratch cooking, and maintaining high sanitation standards.

The ideal candidate has restaurant or commercial kitchen experience, can work independently, and collaborates well with a team. Schedule is Monday–Friday 11:00am–7:30pm, pay $22–$26/hr DOE.

Qualifications

• Experience working a cooking line.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Knowledge of cooking terminology, food preparation techniques, sanitation practices, and safe knife handling.
• Previous experience in a restaurant, commercial kitchen, retirement community, healthcare dining, or catering environment.
• Experience with scratch cooking and preparing meals from raw ingredients.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and properly store food and supply deliveries.
• Assist with daily food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients.
• Support scratch cooking operations by preparing raw ingredients for cooking and meal service.
• Follow recipes, production schedules, and food preparation guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment in accordance with food safety standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Work collaboratively with cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation.
• Assist with kitchen setup, stocking, and cleanup duties.
