Job summary

Provincial Senior Living, part of Discovery Senior Living, seeks a Prep Cook/Cook to join our team. You will prepare items using standardized recipes and coordinate meal production to serve residents on schedule.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience, with culinary apprenticeship or food safety certification preferred. We offer competitive wages and both full-time and part-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of job-related experience including food preparation.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
• Food Services Sanitation Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food items using standardized recipes in a timely manner.
• Determines food and supplies needed and coordinates meal production with serving hours.
• Monitors all food items to ensure minimum guidelines for temperature, taste, and quality.
• Ensures proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and standardized recipes.
• Maintains or exceeds standards of appearance, cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
• Practices all safety and loss prevention procedures.
• Oversees food storage; checks labels and dates.
• Completes cleaning duties.
• Follows all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.
• Maintains food safety equipment records and food safety temperature records.

• Practices all safety and loss prevention procedures.
• Oversees food storage; checks labels and dates.
• Completes cleaning duties.
• Follows all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.

• Other duties as assigned.
