Job summary

Covenant Woods is seeking a skilled Cook to join our culinary team in Virginia. We offer full-time and part-time shifts with early morning hours and weekend work as described.

Candidates should have prior commercial cooking experience and a strong commitment to food safety, sanitation, and exceptional service. As a Cook, you will prepare and portion meals, work across stations, record temperatures, label and store foods properly, and support meal service for daily dining and events.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial cooking experience preferred.
• Experience with basic cooking techniques, including sautéing, frying, braising, and salad preparation.
• ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain)
• Strong attention to food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and portion meals under the direction of the Chef.
• Work at multiple stations: sauté, fry, braising, and salad preparation.
• Record temperatures and follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Keep kitchens, workstations, equipment, coolers, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Properly label, date, and store food products.
• Support meal service for daily dining and special events.
• Follow all Virginia Department of Health regulations and ServSafe standards.
