Job summary

Independence Village is seeking a full-time Line Cook to prepare meals for residents and guests according to menus and recipes. You will work morning and afternoon shifts, ensuring portions are accurate and plates are attractively presented.

Responsibilities include coordinating with staff, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and upholding safety and food-handling standards to support a positive dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or technical school.
• Minimum of three years of line cook experience or training.
• Good communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food for residents, guests and employees.
• Prepare food according to planned menu and standard recipes.
• Plate items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions.
• Assist other kitchen staff as needed.
• Ensure sufficient food is prepped and prepared and report shortages.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of station throughout shifts.
• Present a professional appearance and wear required uniform.
