Position Overview

Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot food products. Prepare and portion food prior to cooking, and handle final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing of cooked items.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using kitchen equipment according to standardized recipes.
  2. Ensure the quality of all products served, assuming full responsibility.
  3. Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies consistently.
  4. Maintain sufficient stock levels at line stations for smooth service.
  5. Portion food prior to cooking according to recipes.
  6. Keep work stations clean and sanitary, including all kitchen equipment and surfaces.
  7. Prepare items for various cooking methods, including portioning, battering, breading, seasoning, and marinating.
  8. Follow proper plate presentation and garnishing procedures.
  9. Handle, store, and rotate products properly.
  10. Assist with food prep during off-peak hours as needed.
  11. Properly close the kitchen following the closing checklist and assist others as needed.
  12. Attend scheduled meetings and contribute suggestions for improvement.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or Manager on Duty.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of kitchen preparation and cooking experience.
  • At least 6 months in a similar role.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
