Job summary

Nemacolin Woodlands Resort is seeking a Line Cook to translate culinary standards into daily production on a designated station. You will prepare menu items, maintain a clean and organized station, and assist with inventory and ordering while communicating any concerns to ensure smooth service.

Qualifications

  • Relevant culinary training and experience in a hotel, resort, or quality restaurant; four- or five-star property preferred.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to safely and proficiently use sharp knives and operate basic kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proper grooming and clean uniform per standards.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, climb, reach, push, pull for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

What You Will Create
  • Consistently well-executed dishes by preparing menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, presentation expectations, and service timing
  • A service-ready station by maintaining the cleanliness, organization, equipment, and product availability needed for efficient culinary production
  • Reliable kitchen operations through accurate inventory, appropriate product ordering, responsible use of supplies, and prompt communication of equipment or product concerns
  • A safe and professional culinary environment by using knives and kitchen equipment properly, following food safety and sanitation standards, and maintaining awareness of potential hazards
  • Smooth execution during busy service by managing multiple priorities, maintaining accuracy through repetitive tasks, and responding thoughtfully when unexpected challenges arise
  • A collaborative culinary culture by communicating effectively, supporting fellow associates, sharing ideas, and contributing to a team committed to exceptional food and hospitality

  • Ability to work days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to report to work as scheduled, neatly groomed, in a clean uniform, and in accordance with company grooming and dress standards
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, climb, reach, push, pull, and perform other repetitive movements for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift
  • Ability to work for extended periods in extreme heat and/or cold and, when applicable, outdoors in varying weather and elevated noise conditions
  • Ability to work safely around mechanical, electrical, chemical, and fume hazards
