Job summary

Delta Hotels in Mesa, AZ is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to prepare entrees, check stock, and assemble components for service. You will plate and garnish dishes, adapt to seasonal menus, and help maintain a clean, organized kitchen throughout shifts.

The role requires cooking experience in a professional kitchen, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work with the team to deliver high-quality meals to guests.

Qualifications

  • Culinary program preferred.
  • Food Handlers card and/or Food handling management certificate.
  • One or more years of cooking experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Excelling in a variety of cooking styles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepping ingredients before each meal service.
  • Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations.
  • Preparing food including cleaning, cutting, and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.
  • Plating and garnishing dishes before serving.
  • Collaborating with servers to ensure orders are prepared correctly and on time.
  • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and utensils and storing equipment after shifts.
  • Ensuring kitchen procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards.

Job description

Summary/Objective

A Line Cook prepares delicious entrees for our guests. You will help check kitchen stock for fresh ingredients and supplies, prepare components before each meal service, and ensure the work area is clean and ready. During service, you will plate and garnish dishes that are ready to be served to our patrons. We rotate menu items based on seasonal ingredients, which will allow you to cook a variety of exciting meals throughout the year.

  • Prepping ingredients before each meal service.
  • Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations.
  • Preparing food which includes cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks.
  • Plating and garnishing dishes before they are served.
  • Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
  • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts.
  • Ensuring that the kitchen operational procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.

Work environment
  • Ability to stand for most of your shift.
  • Hotels operate 24/7 therefore schedules may at times fluctuate based on the needs of the business, so being flexible is key to this position.
  • Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twist, or lifting as much as 30lbs. throughout your scheduled shift.
