We are looking for an experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team! You will be preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy.

You are passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences through good, quality food. With previous experience as a cook, you are able to manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere. Ideally, you have your ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification.

As a member of Huey Magoo's restaurant operating team, the Line Cook/Prep Cook is responsible for food preparation, quality assurance, proper presentation, cleaning, sanitation, and ensuring fast, efficient service according to company standards. The cook maintains proper portioning, waste controls, and practices safety rules while performing duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Food preparation - Prepare and handle food according to all regulations, ensure quality and presentation, and manage order flow for timely delivery. Preps product for the next shift as directed.
  • Menu and guest checks - Maintain knowledge of menu items, prices, and abbreviations; fulfill guest orders properly; respond professionally to feedback.
  • Quality control - Ensure food freshness, check quality, rotate stock, and minimize waste while maintaining portion control.
  • Equipment operation - Set up and maintain equipment at specified temperatures and settings; keep work areas organized.
  • Cleanliness - Ensure food prep areas are clean and sanitary, maintaining safety standards.
  • Professionalism - Maintain personal appearance and conduct professionally.
  • Safety Practices - Follow safety rules, report concerns, and assist in emergencies.
  • Inventory Management - Manage walk-in storage, unpack deliveries, and report missing products.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or higher preferred
  • Experience in fast casual restaurants preferred
  • ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification a plus
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write, communicate in English
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs
  • Stand for 8+ hours
