Job summary

Schwan's in Salina, KS is hiring a full-time production worker in a food manufacturing setting. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, with a $2.00 shift differential for later hours. Shift: 1st.

Hours: 5 am – 3:30 pm. You will unpack materials, mix ingredients, assemble products and package finished goods, ensuring quality standards and compliance with GMP, USDA and safety rules. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 0–1 year of experience; ability to lift 50 lb; good manual

• Be adaptable to rotating schedules, including weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Unpack raw materials, mix ingredients, assemble products, and package finished goods.
• Ensure all products meet company and government quality standards.
• Inspect products and document any waste or issues.
• Notify supervisor of quality issues, ingredient/material problems and/or equipment breakdowns.
• Follow USDA, OSHA, GMPs and safety regulations.

What You Will Do:

• Unpack raw materials, mix ingredients, assemble products, and package finished goods.
• Ensure that all products (from raw materials to finished products) meet company and government quality standards.
• Inspect products; throwing out or fixing products as necessary; writing down amount of waste as directed.
• Notify supervisor of quality issues, ingredient/material problems and/or equipment breakdowns.
• Perform all duties in compliance with existing USDA, OSHA, State, Federal, and company regulations, policies, and procedures (including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and safety regulations).

What We Look For:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 0 to 1 years of experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods on concrete floors.
• Strong manual dexterity; capable of performing repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions.
• Be adaptable to rotating schedules, including weekends and overtime as needed.
