Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a 2nd shift poultry line worker responsible for removing shoulders from carcasses at a set pace while maintaining product quality and safety. You will follow NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and company policies while working on a fast-paced production line.

The role requires manual dexterity and the ability to work unsupervised during a 2nd shift. Applicants must be able to stand for long periods, manage cold and wet conditions, and adhere to safety protocols.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Primarily responsible for removing poultry shoulders from carcass using knife at specified speed. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulation

SHIFT: 2nd (4:30 PM-1:00 AM)

PAY: $21.75

PRIMARY FUNCTION

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under general supervision, remove poultry shoulder from carcass while maintaining line speed according to company and customer specifications
• Identify and remove fan bones and eye meat from poultry piece as needed
• Adhere to safe work practices, policies and procedures, maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality; report any condition or practice that may adversely affect food safety, food quality and/or personnel safety
• Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
• All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Manual dexterity required

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Stand up to 8 hours.
• Lift up to 60 lbs.
• Exposure to wet and cold environment
• Will be exposed to noise of > 85 decibels, CO2 and moving production equipment
• Work around raw and/or animal odors
