  • Fastens seats, door paneling, headliners, carpeting, molding, and other trim into position.
  • Assembles fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using pre-made templates or reading measurements.
  • Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications.
  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hoists.
  • Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
  • Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

Overview:

Individual will be performing general assembly of ambulance chassis using parts and materials. Individual must be able to use hand tools, read tape measure, and follow verbal and written instructions. Each task will have a written step by step manual. Heavy lifting may be involved in certain tasks. Installation of various vehicle interior/exterior parts according to specifications and using hand tools, power tools, and production fixtures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Installation of all nonelectrical and electrical interior/exterior parts and hardware.

  • Function with a minimal amount of supervision or no supervision.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Other physical requirements include: Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40lbs without assistance. Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions. Ability to work with arms above head. Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding. Ability to stand at a workstation for ten hours a day (minus specified breaks.) Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards. Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery. Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions. Ability to bend, stoop, and squat. Occasionally lift up to but not exceed 75 pounds. Ability to work with arms above head. Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is elevated.
