Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a LIMS Software Engineer to join the Bioinformatics team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining applications handling genetic data, collaborating with Data Science, Bioinformatics and lab teams in an agile environment.

The position is hybrid, with offices in Marlborough, MA or other nationwide locations. The candidate should have a CS/Engineering background and experience in Python/JavaScript along with cloud deployment knowledge.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Proficiency with Python and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
• Experience writing tests in a TDD mindset.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay Range: $107,000.00 - $137,000.00 / year

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

This professional will work in a hybrid capacity out of one of the following offices:

We are seeking a LIMS Software Engineer to join our Bioinformatics team, focused on advancing patient care through innovative software solutions. The successful candidate will implement and maintain applications handling genetic data. Collaborating closely with the Data Science, Bioinformatics and lab teams, the developer will work in an agile environment, contributing to the modernization of our systems while enhancing their own technical skills.

Responsibilities

Feature Development

• Implement, and maintain software application.
• Ensure user requirements and performance standards are met.

Cloud Deployment

• Deploy and manage applications for scalability and reliability.

Agile Collaboration

• Participate in agile workflows, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.

Quality Assurance

• Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality.
• Conduct peer code reviews to uphold development standards.

Qualifications

Required WorkExperience

• 1+ Years of Relevant Experience.
• Proficiency in modern software development practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, version control, testing frameworks).
• Experience with Python, Javascript.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
• Test-driven development mindset and experience writing tests.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Work Experience

• Knowledge of the health industry or interest in genetics and bioinformatics.
• Experience implementing solutions in the cloud. AWS is preferred.
• Experience with designing and working with application programming interfaces (e.g. JSON based RESTful APIs).

Knowledge

• Proficiency in full stack development, including front-end, back-end, and databases.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous learning.
