Job summary

Balance Health is seeking a Limited Purpose X-ray Technician and Medical Assistant to expertly capture patient imaging and support clinicians across our locations. The role requires a California AART certification, strong radiology knowledge, and the ability to float as needed.

You will also assist with patient care tasks, coordinate with physicians, and help with office duties. This full-time position offers competitive pay and benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or equivalent with associate degree or higher in a related area preferred plus at least 1-year experience working as an X-Ray Technician in a medical practice or similar environment.
  • Current California AART certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
  • Knowledge and full understanding of current radiological standards.
  • Hands on experience assisting Physicians with procedures and tasks in patient exam rooms along with a wide range of tasks related to patient care.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills including prioritizing daily tasks.
  • Ability to communicate logically and clearly verbally and in writing, along with good listening communication skills while maintaining professional and courteous interactions with patients, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Must be able to ensure accurate, timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to float to surrounding locations.
  • PC Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Physicians with procedures and related tasks in exam rooms.
  • Support office administrative tasks and coverage for Medical Assistants.

Description

The Limited Purpose Xray Technician and Medical Assistant will have attained full proficiency in the area of discipline and will be responsible for properly taking required patient images using technological equipment. Responsibilities include clear and timely communication with clinicians on a regular basis and helping with other office administrative tasks and coverage for Medical Assistants.

QUALIFICATIONS: To be successful in this role, must be able to perform each of the essential functions noted above in addition to possessing the Education, Training, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Expected Behaviors as follows:

Required:

  • High-school diploma or equivalent with associate degree or higher in a related area preferred plus at least 1-year experience working as an X-Ray Technician in a medical practice or similar environment.

  • PC Proficient with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Understand additional tasks may be assigned to meet business needs.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to successfully pass an in-depth background investigation, including clean DMV report and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to float to surrounding locations

Desired:

  • Experience working in a busy medical practice environment.
  • Experience using Athena
  • or any combination of academic education and professional training and development along with applied work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

Compensation / Benefits:

Full-time position working Monday - Friday with a competitive pay range of $30 - $32/hour depending on relevant work experience.

Eligible to participate in company benefit program on the first of the month following 30-days of employment if a 30-hour work week is consistently maintained.

Eligible to participate in our 401(k) program with company match on the first of the month following 2-months of employment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing, reaching and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Physical strength and agility to position patients for a variety of diagnostic examinations.
