Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union is seeking an enthusiastic, open-minded Limited Term Physical Education Teacher with a growth mindset to join our team of dedicated and innovative staff at our newly restructured regional middle school, Equinox Valley Middle School! The ideal candidate will be a strong, collaborative team member who is committed to continuing to work on their teaching practice through professional development both individually and as a team. The Limited Term Physical Education Teacher will develop in each student an interest in and the ability to move with competence and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development of the whole person. The Limited Term Physical Education Teacher will foster a passion for making healthy, active choices that are both beneficial to and respectful of a student’s whole self, others, and their environment. The Limited Term Physical Education Teacher must have strong knowledge and understanding of working, planning, and assessing in a proficiency-based system. Annual Salary Range:

• $51,000 to $95,370, based on education level and years of experience; prorated in accordance with FTE

Job Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in Physical Education
  • Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License with appropriate endorsement in Physical Education
  • Current certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with automated external defibrillator (AED) and first aid
• Copies of transcripts and license(s) must be uploaded to the application for all licensed positions. Successful applicants to Licensed positions will be required to provide official transcripts to Human Resources before completion of the hiring process.
• Preferences:
  • A Master degree from an accredited institution in Physical Education is preferred
  • Participation in a state approved and accredited Educator Preparation Program with recommendation for licensure is preferred
  • VT AOE licensure with dual endorsements in Physical Education (3-08 or 7-08) and Health Education (3-31 or 17-31) is preferred
  • At least two (2) years of proven experience delivering physical education instruction in a public school setting is preferred
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
