Job summary

Carbon Health in California is seeking a Radiology Technician to support diagnostic imaging and patient care in a fast-paced clinic. You will prepare patients, protect from radiation, and assist Radiologists by preparing images for reads.

You will hold an LXRT certificate, ARRT registration or equivalent, and an accredited Medical Assisting program credential, with CPR-BLS current. The role offers comprehensive benefits and a path to professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent education or training.
  • Current LXRT certificate and ARRT registration or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program.
  • Current CPR-BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging and explain procedures.
  • Apply radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure.
  • Prepare images for reading by Radiologist.
  • Assist with Medical Assistant duties to maintain patient flow.
  • Attend staff and departmental meetings and trainings.
  • Complete DOT training to perform urine drug screens and breath tests.
  • Suggest process improvements to workflows and procedures.
  • Work autonomously within established procedures.

Education

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent
LXRT certificate
Completion of accredited Medical Assisting program
Current CPR- BLS
ARRT registration or equivalent

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging; explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff
  • Prepare images for reading by Radiologist
  • Assist with Medical Assistant duties to ensure optimal patient flow
  • Attend staff and departmental meetings
  • Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests
  • Proposes improvements to processes and workflows
  • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices.

ABOUT YOU

  • Has advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through job-related training and considerable work experience. May act as a lead, coordinating and facilitating the work of others, but is not a supervisor
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ year experience preferred
  • Current LXRT certificate
  • Completion of accredited Medical Assisting program
  • Current CPR- BLS
  • Licensure/Certifications:Current registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or have an equivalent Radiologic Technology credentialing agency
