**Job Description Summary**The Estimator III/Sr. Estimator is responsible for business development and the preparation of complete electrical estimates of industrial and commercial projects including, automotive, mission critical, and healthcare. Complete estimates include all quotations and subcontractors required for the project. A high degree of accuracy, communication, and attention to detail is required.**Job Description:****Role & Responsibilities**•Accurately interpret the design drawings and specifications submitted. This includes all design drawings from all disciplines including civil, structural, architectural, and mechanical drawings •Schedule and participate in estimating kickoff meetings. •Perform the pre-bid bid reviews with the Estimating Team including the Chief Estimator. •Lead final bid reviews with the entire Estimating Team. •Prepare quotation of materials and subcontracts. •Review and understand the Electrical and Low Voltage Systems specifications. •Review bid documents and attend pre-bid meetings and job walks to determine the scope of work. •Participate in interview prep meetings, customer interviews, and respond to customer questions. •Participate in committee and department meetings. •Identity and develop estimating standards. •Accurately estimate labor, materials, and administrative costs for projects. •Lead small teams of estimators tasked with preparing estimates for large projects. •Assist the Chief Estimator with scheduling of estimating resources and planning required to ensure timely and accurate completion of estimates. •Complete bid forms and prepare necessary supporting documentation. •Create scope of work documents which accurately describe the inclusions, assumptions and clarifications used in preparing bid estimates. •Develop scopes of work and/or bid leveling documents used in soliciting quotes for third-party products and services. Capable of leveling bidders to ensure complete scopes of work and accurate cost information. •Collaborate with the Business Development team and/or division leadership to develop a bid strategy specific to each opportunity. •Verify and maintain detailed records of estimate revisions and other supporting documents as needed, to serve as back-up for open book projects. •Verify completion of the estimator check list. •Facilitate communication with the Sales and Preconstruction team as well as Designers, Project Managers, General Foreman, and others to resolve issues throughout the project. •Utilize estimating software to properly estimate projects, enter data, and perform takeoffs. •Assist with the development of training and mentorship programs. •Develop and mentor talent. **Qualifications and Education Requirements**•High School Diploma or equivalent. •Two (2) year degree in related field or equivalent experience. •8+ years of experience in electrical conceptual estimating, low voltage estimating, National Electrical Code requirements, and design/build estimating preferred. •Strong computerized estimating skills using electrical estimating software; experience with Accubid or Enterprise is a plus. •Strong knowledge in the use of Bluebeam software for estimating and construction-related purposes. •Strong mathematical skills, coupled with strong Microsoft Office skills (with an emphasis on Excel) are mandatory requirements for this position. •Competent organizational skills and attention to detail. •Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Additionally, presentation skills are highly desirable. •Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a manner that ensures timely and accurate completion of all assigned tasks. •Ability to work in both an autonomous environment, as well as part of a larger team. •Effective problem-solving skills. •Effective time management skills and ability to manage workload and meet deadlines. **Key Skills and Competencies**•Able to work cooperatively within diverse teams, both internally and externally, to achieve group and organizational goals. •Maintains and promotes individual and organization integrity and values in conduct of all activities. •Maintains effectiveness in varying work environments where circumstances and priorities are changing. •Able to select and use appropriate technology to accomplish assigned tasks. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines. •Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl. •This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. •This position may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.**Pay Range:**$87,552.00 - $121,600.00Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
