General Description
This position primarily focuses on development and sales growth of the EV Charging Lighting market segments, with a special emphasis on utility company incentive and rebate programs and the implementation and processing of those programs for SYD.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lighting Energy Savings and Design Build
- Receive project assignments from Construction Coordinator, O/S, and directly from customer
- Review project design requirements
- Determine materials/vendors needed to meet design requirements
- Verify or establish foot‑candle levels that meet or exceed IES standards
- Use AGI/CAD software to complete lighting design
- Run calculations to confirm design meets PA State Energy Code requirements
- Coordinate with vendors and obtain project pricing
- Calculate project ROI and prepare customer presentation
- Present final design to customer and work to close sale
Lighting Controls
- Receive project assignments and review design requirements
- Determine materials/vendors needed
- Run calculations to confirm control design meets PA State Energy Code
- Coordinate control requirements with customers, produce BOM
- Obtain project pricing and transmit final design documents to contractors and SYD personnel
- Perform commissioning/startup responsibilities on design‑build and plan‑spec projects
- Stay updated on vendor lighting control systems
- Provide end‑user training on lighting control systems
Utility Rebates
- Maintain up‑to‑date information with utilities about rebate programs
- Update SYD on current state of rebates as they change
- Work with all sales to utilize utility rebates on a job‑by‑job basis
- Collect rebate data for submission to utilities
- Submit monthly rebate reimbursements via utility program managers’ online portals
Energy‑Related Emerging Markets
- Discover, investigate, and launch efforts into emerging energy‑related markets
- Support and grow existing EV charging sales
- Coordinate lighting and EV charging project sales activities with outside sales reps and target customers
- Maintain sales outreach and inform customers of available services, grants, rebates, and new products
- Establish relationships with vendors, outside sales representatives, territory managers, and other sales personnel
Post Bid Responsibilities
- Collect and communicate feedback from customers and salespeople to vendors
- Bid follow‑up discussions with outside sales
- Solicit vendor pricing and compile material price breakdowns
- Convert bids to sales orders and send purchase orders to vendors
- Compile project management documentation and communicate with customers
Other Duties
- Identify, add, and maintain current QPL list; coordinate with purchasing
- Research and identify vendor partners for EV charging/lighting markets
- Recommend products/services for SYD to support market growth
- Respond to customer inquiries for quotations, technical support, and product recommendations
- Purchase material in Solar/Job Management as required
- Track and expedite material to meet customer timelines
- Maintain Solar/Job Management sales data, cancel bids, and provide price feedback
- Participate in joint planning and sales calls with team members and manufacturer representatives
- Submit expense reports and mileage as assigned
- Maintain records of sales activity (CRM entries, bids, quotations, contact updates, forecasts)
- Find and communicate other product sales opportunities within SYD scope of supply
Knowledge / Experience / Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Understanding of basic electrical principles and systems
- Electrical/Lighting industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of lighting and electrical distribution equipment products
- Experience with related computer software (Microsoft Products, Adobe Professional, CAD, etc.)
- Solar/Job Management experience preferred
