Job summary

Lighting Beyond in New York seeks an Architectural Lighting Designer to join our growing team. You will support projects from concept to completion, collaborating with design staff to deliver innovative lighting solutions and compelling environments.

Responsibilities include developing lighting concepts, producing layouts in Revit and AutoCAD, creating renderings and reports, and performing photometric analyses. A portfolio demonstrating technical and creative work is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience working at a lighting company.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • Interest in learning and growing within the field of architectural lighting.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a creative and technically‑minded Architectural Lighting Designer to join our growing team. You’ll support a range of projects from concept to completion, working closely with our design team to bring innovative lighting solutions to life. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of lighting design concepts for architectural projects.
  • Produce lighting layouts and technical drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare presentation materials, renderings, and reports.
  • Perform lighting calculations and photometric analysis.
  • Support the team in project documentation and coordination with architects and engineers.
  • Participate in internal design discussions and client meetings as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Interest in learning and growing within the field of architectural lighting.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Familiarity with AGI32 or other lighting calculation software.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Experience with Bluebeam for document review and markup.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a mix of technical and creative lighting work.
