Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking a focused material handler to prepare and move materials, operate a PIT, and support production and warehouse operations at our Dalton, GA facility.

You will use the AS400 system, verify orders, and help manage inbound/outbound materials while maintaining safety and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a powered industrial truck (PIT).
• Ability to complete a PIT certification course (or valid Mohawk PIT certification).
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and adapt to changes.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Mounting and dismounting the PIT repeatedly during shifts.
• Repetitive reaching, bending, kneeling and pulling.
• Successful completion of a vision screen.
• Positive attitude and flexibility.
• Commitment to safety of yourself and others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare orders for shipment and verify accuracy of order and products.
• Deliver raw materials to production lines and transport finished materials to warehousing and distribution areas.
• Utilize AS400 computer system.
• Assist with scheduling inbound loads and communicating with management.
• Assist management with raw material inventory counting and other inventory tasks.
• Inspect materials, products, or equipment for defects or malfunctions.
• Monitor padding quality in buggies and report deficiencies to management.
• Ensure sufficient empty buggies and trailers for night shift.
• Operate forklifts or similar equipment to unload/load materials as needed.
• Attend job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Train others on internal processes and procedures.
• Maintain records, reports and other documentation.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

• May be required to operate powered industrial trucks/equipment such as forklifts, lift trucks, etc. to unload/load materials
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Train others on internal processes and procedures
• Maintain records, reports and other documentation
• Perform other tasks assigned by management
