Shaw Industries is seeking a Lift Truck Operator II - B Shift to join our Dalton, GA operation. The role involves building custom orders, transporting merchandise with a forklift, and ensuring accurate paperwork for shipments.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a lift truck and handling pallets.

Responsibilities

• Operate lift truck to receive and move materials.
• Transport pallets to storage locations and to trailers for shipping.
• Wrap and prepare pallets for shipment; tape and repair damaged packages.
• Raise/lower dock plate as needed and manage trailer dock activities.
• Follow cone-system for full/empty trailers and perform other duties as assigned.

$19.69 Per Hour

Monday - Friday 6:00 pm - 2:00 am

Position Overview

Position Overview : To build custom orders to fulfill order requests . Position also responsible for the transport of merchandise from trailers to storage locations and from storage areas to trailers for shipping.

Essential Functions

• Receiving a pull task with information on the hard surface material to be pulled and retrieving the correct material with a lift truck.
• Transporting a pallet by forklift to and from location.
• Complete paperwork as required .
• Wrap and band hard surface materials prepared on pallets.
• Prepare and package miscellaneous items in boxes for shipment.
• Tape and repair any damaged packages.
• Raise/Lower dock plate
• Use orange cone system for full or empty trailers
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit or stand on lift truck for the entire shift.
• Must be able to mount/dismount lift truck on an average 15 times per hour while using three points of contact
• Must be able to work in a warehouse environment which may be quite warm or cool.
