The City of Miramar is seeking an entry-level Wastewater Maintenance Technician to help operate and repair the city's lift stations, ensuring continuous service to residents. You will assist other crews and report to the Lift Station Supervisor.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, repairing pumps and valves, performing routine maintenance, keeping accurate work records, and adhering to safety policies.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of maintenance experience.
• Must obtain Wastewater Collection Level III certification within 2 years.
• Must obtain Florida Class B CDL within 1 year.

• Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems, repairs pumps, blowers, valves and other related components within the lift station facilities.
• Greases pumps; cleans sump pits. Cleans filter baskets.
• Participates in general lift station grounds/building maintenance work as assigned.
• Maintains accurate records of work in progress and records completed items.
• Performs all duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, codes, and standards of quality and safety.
• Operates a vehicle, truck, lawn mower, hydraulic crane, jet machine, mechanic's tools and electrician's tools. Maintains assigned equipment and tools.
• Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, co-workers, other department heads and employees, other City employees, contractors, customers.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent and 2 years of mechanical and/or general maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must be able to obtain a Wastewater Collection Level III certification within 2 years of employment.
• Must obtain a State of Florida Class "B" commercial driver's license within 1 year of employment.

• Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater lift stations and related equipment.
• Skill using hand and power tools, and other job-related equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires moderate physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds. May require frequent crouching, kneeling, bending, and stooping. Frequent periods of standing or walking may be required.
