Job summary

Aspen Skiing Company is seeking a Lift Operations Supervisor for Aspen Mountain to oversee daily lift operations and lead a team responsible for safe, efficient guest service on the mountain.

You will coordinate with department heads, monitor staff performance, and ensure compliance with CPTSB/ANSI codes and safety procedures, while supporting guest satisfaction and smooth seasonal operations.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of on-mountain lifts in coordination with department heads; emphasis on teamwork and guest relations.
  • Monitor hourly Lift staff; provide feedback, assist with hiring, scheduling, timekeeping, discipline and reviews.
  • Perform duties of hourly lift staff when necessary and assume certain manager duties as required.
  • Ensure compliance with tramway regulations, proper signage and licensing, evacuation procedures and opening.
  • Maintain and update lift manuals, log books and related documents.

The Lift Operations Supervisoris responsible forthe safe and efficient operationofonmountain liftsfor skiing guests and employees. The Lift Operations Supervisoroversees all aspects of day-to-day operations onmountain, in coordination with department heads and supervisors, assessedon a daily basis.This position reports to theLift Operations Manager.

The salary range for this position is$60,000 - $73,000.Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible forday to dayoperations of on mountain lifts in coordination with department heads, assessedon a daily basiswith emphasis on teamwork, coordination with other departments, proper documentation, and guest relations skills
  • Responsible forhourlyLift staff: monitor performance, providetimelyfeedback,assistwith various tasks including hiring, scheduling, timekeeping, discipline and documentation and employee reviews
  • Performsthe duties of hourly liftstaffwhen necessary, fill-in manager duties asrequired
  • Monitors lifts and personnel for Tramway compliance includingallnecessarysignage and licensing, evacuation procedures, opening,etc.
  • Updateslift manualsasrequiredin addition tolog booksand all related documents
  • Conducts and/ormonitorstraining sessions and completes all training documentationrequiredbyAspen Skiing Company andColorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board Regulations
  • Thoroughly and accurately completes administrative tasksasrequired
  • Flexiblewith schedule to accommodatedaily operationsandspecial events
  • Responsible for compliancewith mountain safety practices
  • Otherduties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability tocommunicateandfollow oral or written directions in Englishisrequired
  • Proficient knowledge in lift attendant responsibilities
  • Proficient experience in customer service
  • Knowledge of the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board (CPTSB) & American National Standards Institute (ANSI) codespertaining toski lifts
  • Lift Maintenance & Operations – In-depth understanding of ski lift mechanics, daily inspections, and emergency procedures.
  • Safety Regulations & Compliance – Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and state ski lift safety regulations to ensure a secure operating environment.
  • Awareness of resort policies, guest interaction best practices, and how lift operationsimpactoverall mountain safety
  • Provides leadership, training, motivation and mayassistwith coaching/documentation and performance reviews for staff
  • Ability to understand and give directions and communicate effectively in English
  • Demonstrates high-level ofproficiencyin all aspects of lift operations
  • Capable of making sound judgments in fast-paced or emergency situations
  • Able to work long hours in varying mountain weather conditions, including extreme cold and high altitudes
  • Ensures all safety checks, logs, and operational procedures are meticulously followed tomaintaincompliance and guest safety

Work Environment& Physical Demands

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand or be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time
  • Regularlywork in adverseconditionsandrequiredto use protective equipment to preventexposure to hazardous materialsas well as an office environment and may berequiredto walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able tolift,pushor pullup to50 lbs. individually or withassistance
  • Must be able to ski or snowboard at an advanced level
