Job summary

Brighton Resort is seeking a skilled Lift Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance program for aerial lifts and related equipment. You will oversee a team, ensure safe and reliable operation, and coordinate inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance across seasons.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in lift or mechanical maintenance, strong leadership, and the ability to work in high-altitude winter conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in ski lift maintenance or mechanical maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting aerial lifts or complex mechanical systems.
• Supervisory/management experience in a ski resort or mountain environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, bearings, gearboxes, braking systems.
• Ability to read/interpret technical manuals, schematics, drawings, and equipment documentation.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in high-altitude winter environments and adverse weather.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical maintenance program and team for Brighton Resort’s lifts and related equipment.
• Maintain lifts in safe, reliable, and operational condition year-round.
• Plan and oversee inspections, seasonal openings, shutdowns, and major maintenance projects.
• Diagnose lift-system issues and provide technical direction to staff.
• Coordinate with manufacturers, contractors, and engineers when specialized support is needed.
• Maintain records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, parts, and regulatory documentation.
• Collaborate with Lift Operations, Ski Patrol, and Mountain Operations on safety and operations.
