The Lifestyle Assistant assists the Director of Lifestyle to provide group and individual activities for the residents. Duties will involve personal contact with a varying resident population for the purpose of Customer Service and individual Lifestyle Assessment. The Lifestyle Assistant is expected to work a varied work schedule that may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays. Tasks also will involve record keeping, attention to the environment, use of supplies and equipment, and maintenance of storage areas.
1. Assist with activities as directed by the Director of Lifestyle and in accordance with each resident's plan of care.
2. Chaperone scheduled activities away from the facility grounds
3. Help maintain a pleasant and cheerful nursing home environment
4. Deliver and read mail as needed
5. Assist with other tasks as directed by the Director of Lifestyle
6. Participate in and promote staff participation in facility-wide special activities such as dress-up days and special observances
7. Attend mandatory facility in-services
8. Attend lifestyle department in-services or workshops as directed by the Director of Lifestyle
9. Continue the lifestyle program in the absence of the Director of Lifestyle

This job operates in a post-acute setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Team member is expected to adhere to facility’s no-smoking policy.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.
This is a position in a post-acute setting that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Weekend and holiday shifts will be required.
