Job summary

Dial Senior Living is seeking an Activities Assistant to work with the lifestyle team in Lenexa, KS. You will create engaging resident experiences, lead diverse activities, and support outings and events to promote a vibrant community.

You will document participation, assist with decorations, and help residents with mobility. Prior experience in activities or senior living is preferred; must be 18+ with a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Assist residents with mobility and promote teamwork among staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and lead activities across physical, social, recreational, intellectual, and creative categories.
• Lead group activities and engage residents while building positive relationships.
• Document resident engagement daily in LifeLoop and observe trends.
• Coordinate community outings and special celebrations, acting as a chaperone when needed.
• Invite residents to participate and help them get to activities safely.
• Support social media content creation and posting for the community.
• Drive the company vehicle for activities and appointments as needed.

Position Overview

This position works with the lifestyle team to create unique resident experiences that promote a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging community.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, implementing, and leading activities in the following categories: physical, social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, religious, service/volunteering, and special requests of the residents.
• Lead group activities while encouraging resident participation and building positive relationships.
• Document resident engagement each day in LifeLoop, tracking the data to observe engagement trends.
• Help coordinate community outings, events, and special celebrations, while assisting as a chaperone.
• Become acquainted with each resident and their activity preferences and promote activities in a way that piques residents’ interests.
• Assist with decoration of the facility for special events, seasons, and holidays.
• Invite and/or remind residents to participate in planned activities, assisting them to and from activities.
• Support social media content creation and posting for the community.
• Drive the company vehicle for resident activities and appointments, as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance resident experiences.Identify and requisition needed supplies for planned activities.
• Report on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs
• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to resident, community operations and personnel.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Education, Experience And Other Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

• Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to assist residents with mobility and stand for extended periods
• Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in activities, recreation, or senior living
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Experience working with memory care or seniors with dementia
• Enjoyment in working with older adults
