Indiana University Health in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Full-Time EMT to respond to emergencies with an emergency medical vehicle. You will provide immediate basic life support and transport patients to the hospital, performing CPR, AED use, and splinting as required.

Must hold Indiana EMT Certification (or national certification with transfer within 30 days) and BLS; additional ALS certifications may be needed per unit policy. A valid driver's license and MVR review may be required.

Qualifications

• Indiana EMT Certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Other ALS certifications may be required by unit.

Responsabilités

Full Time/Three 12 hour shifts (set schedule), Lafayette, IN

Responds in an emergency medical vehicle to the scene of reported emergencies, nonemergencies and interhospital transports. Provides efficient and immediate basic life support care to the patient at the scene and enroute to and in the hospital. Performs non-invasive procedures and basic life support functions such as, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillation (AED), and bone splinting. Performs specialized life sustaining procedures in a hospital-based advanced care ambulance service. Responsible for providing immediate emergency care and transport of the critically ill or injured.

A valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record report may be required for this role. Consideration of employment for this role may be contingent upon the results of the Motor Vehicle Record report.

• Indiana Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician issued by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security required, or must be nationally certified and able to obtain the Indiana EMT Certification within 30 days of start of employment.
• Basic Life Support certification through the America Heart Association required.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires Indiana State drivers license.
