Job summary

Goldfish Swim School - Rochester is seeking a motivated individual to start as a Swim Instructor with paid training and progression to Lifeguard. You will teach swim lessons to kids from infancy to 12 years old and, after certification, supervise and ensure pool safety with a welcoming team environment.

No prior experience is required as paid training is provided and certification costs are covered. The role emphasizes child safety and a positive learning experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Able to swim 50 meters forward, unassisted.
• Comfortable working with children and parents.
• Willing to complete paid training and obtain lifeguard certification.
• Must pass any required background checks before training.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging swim lessons to children ages 4 months to 12 years old.
• Help swimmers build water safety skills, confidence, and a love of swimming.
• Provide active lifeguard supervision and help maintain a safe pool environment once certified.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.

Swim Instructor & Lifeguard (Paid Training Included)

At Goldfish Swim School, our mission is to teach children how to swim and be safer in and around the water while making their experience GOLDEN! As a Swim Instructor and future Lifeguard, you'll play an important role in helping children build confidence, develop essential life skills, and enjoy the water safely.

No experience? No problem! We provide paid training to help you succeed. You'll start as a Swim Instructor earning $15 per hour while learning to teach swim lessons. We'll cover the cost of your lifeguard certification, and our next certification class is expected in November or December. Once certified, you'll move into the Lifeguard role earning $17 per hour. By the end of your training, you'll be cross-trained in both positions!

• Must be at least 16 years old, in accordance with applicable lifeguard certification requirements
• Comfortable working with children and communicating with parents
• Able to swim 50 meters forward, without swimming on your back. Untimed.
• Reliable, responsible, and eager to learn
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Willingness to complete paid training and obtain lifeguard certification
• Must successfully complete any required background checks before training
