Douglas-Aquatics in Virginia Richmond is seeking a Lifeguard Coordinator to oversee recruitment, scheduling, and management of more than 400 seasonal lifeguards across multiple commercial pool locations.

This role emphasizes organization, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure well-staffed facilities. Training and certification opportunities are provided, with Lifeguard Instructor Certification a plus; flexible summer hours and health benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and hire seasonal lifeguards before the summer pool season.
• Coordinate staffing for more than 400 lifeguards at multiple facilities.
• Create and maintain weekly lifeguard schedules, ensuring all pools are fully staffed.
• Fill open shifts and respond quickly to call-outs and last-minute scheduling changes.
• Communicate daily with lifeguards, pool managers, and clients regarding schedules and staffing needs.
• Assist with onboarding, orientation, and employee paperwork.
• Track lifeguard certifications, employment records, and required training.
• Coordinate certification and recertification classes as needed.
• Work closely with the operations team to ensure exceptional service for all clients.
• Support employee engagement and help maintain a positive team culture throughout the swim season.

We are a leading commercial pool management company seeking a highly organized and motivated Lifeguard Coordinator to oversee the recruitment, scheduling, and management of more than 400 seasonal lifeguards across multiple commercial swimming pool locations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, solving scheduling challenges, and helping build a successful aquatics team. Prior aquatics experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in aquatics, recreation, or seasonal staffing.
