Job summary

Highlands Recreation District seeks a Lifeguard to supervise pool safety and respond to emergencies. You will also maintain the pool area and facilities, including the office and equipment room, with emphasis on cleanliness and safety.

Reporting to the Aquatics Supervisor, you will open/close facilities, enforce rules, and assist with memberships and concessions when needed. Training and re-certifications are required timely.

Qualifications

• Must have current lifeguard certification and be able to perform standard first aid and CPR as required.
• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to implement emergency procedures per the EAP.
• Must be reliable, and able to work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide surveillance while lifeguarding from designated areas.
• Enforce pool rules and regulate lap lanes for safe swimming.
• Maintain aquatics equipment and areas (office and deck) with high cleanliness.
• Manage emergencies, notify contacts, and activate chain of command.
